Juliette race is Saturday Morning and they are 3 volunteers short!

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteer Race Course Marshall

 Dear Fellow Cyclists, The Georgia Cup race series will be making a stop in Macon, GA on June 13-14, 2009.  This exciting two-day event will give us an opportunity to grow and expand our sport in the Macon community.  In order to host a successful event, we need your help marshaling the courses. As a marshal, you will be responsible for automobile traffic control, pedestrian traffic control, and race directional support. Your support of this event is greatly needed.

·      Saturday 6.13.09 – 5 marshals needed for the time trial and criterium events.

·      Sunday 6.14.09 – 14 marshals needed for the road race.

·      Volunteer times will be determined.

Athens Twilight - Gambler

There is a 50 or 100 kilometer road ride in Athens, Georgia this Saturday the 25th. You can go to: http://www.athenstwilight.com/gambler.php  to register.  It starts at 10am. And I know we are planning on hanging around to watch the races in downtown Athens Saturday night. If you have never been, it's like watching NASCAR on bikes. It's a lot of fun. Peach Blossom Bike Ride

Peach Blossom Ride is this Saturday the April 25th down in Byron Georgia. It is hosted by the Byron United Methodist Church Youth Fellowship. 
They have ride options of 15, 31, & 62 miles!

Saturday, April 18th Ride

Start: Howard Middle School

Time:  9:00 am

Distance: 3.5-4 hrs

1 store stop

Route:  Out Estes to Hopewell, Hwy 80 to Pleasant Grove Church Rd, store stop in Yatesville, and then we’ll figure out what we want to do from there.

We will have a few areas of long efforts, 20-30 minutes, but no attack zones.

Zipp Disc Wheel for Sale

Trey Gavin asked me to post that he is selling a Zipp 900 Tubular 700c Disc wheel. Here is his description:

This is a non-dimpled Zipp Disc. It is Shimano compatible. Wheel is in very good condition. No defects visible. Zipp decals were removed by a previous owner, but I bought brand new ones to put on and never did it. You will get the new stickers with the purchase. This thing is light and very fast. REMINDER ROAD RIDES START TOMORROW!!

This is a reminder that the road rides start tomorrow! Tuesday the 10th, at 5:30pm, from the church on the corner of Bass Rd. and Rivoli. We should have a VERY large group. So please be careful and don't try to leave all at the same time, if possible. Look forward to seeing everyone on the road.

Peach Blossom Bike Ride

The annual Metric Century from Byron United Methodist Church begins Saturday March 28 at 9am, and the details are at www.byronumc.org . There is also a 15 and 31 mile option. This is a good ride and for a good cause. $20 by March 20th, and $25 afterwards. The metric ride is actually about 66 miles. Hope to see some folks there, if it doesn't rain!

Wheels o' Fire

The Wheels o' Fire ride will be in Harris County on Saturday, March 14. I plan to do the century option and would welcome anyone who wants to join me. Kits for Macon Chain Gang 2009

Here are the kits for 2009. If you are interested in purchasing a kit, the fit kits should be at BIKE TECH this Tuesday, the the 17th. Please make your way there to try them on and order the size you need. The last day you can order your kit is this Friday, February 20th at 5:00pm!!! 

TUESDAY & THURSDAY ROAD RIDES

Rides will officially begin Tuesday, March 10th (after the time changes) at the North Presbyterian Church on the corner of Bass and Rivoli at 5:30pm. If you have any other rides you are planning before then, please feel free to post them to this blog.
